Knew this weekend was going to well.

Someone broke into the Krazmobile last night/ this am and stole my stereo. ****ers smashed the dash and trashed the console too. Come to find out this is the 4th breakin in as many weekends. The other 3 were burglaries, so I guess I got off lucky.

Goddamn I am pissed. means I am going to have to spend a day replacing the dash before I can really drive again. Need to check the wiring as well, plus replace the window. . . .

If I catch those bastards. . . . .

Stop putting stuff of value in the car then would seem to be the best solution.

This is the first time my car has been hit.

There have been a bunch of other cars broken into. there have also been a bunch of apartments hit. However, the complex has not gotten the word out yet, and from talking to the neighbors, we think we know how the theives are getting in.

We're goin to be looking closer tommorow to see if we're right. . . .

Well,

After a late night run to a local hardware shop, and a couple hours of playing with power tools we managed to secure the windows and lower level approaches into the unit. This AM I've been looking for a wiring diagram to see just how badly they screwed up the electrical system, and if I can fix it today.

****, I am pissed off. Dash is totally trashed, and they are a bitch to replace. . . . .

Update #2.

Boy these guys are bold. Found a ladder stashed in the weeds along the property line, along with a trail leading to a nearby trailer park known for the criminal behavior of its tenants. Also found footprints along the trail, and it last rained Friday morning.

My guess is that they think they've found a stealthy approach into the complex and a way to slip out unnoticed after doing a little B&E. However, now that we know about this little path, we just have to wait.

Time to make some calls and call in a few favors. . . .

sjeez what a coincidence... last night some f*cktards entered our housing complex (just
lifted the heavy front gate from it's rail) and stole my neighbour's car. They also tried
to steal our 2nd car which was parked outside - a 15y old Nissan sentra - but they didn't succeed because of the gearlock and the immobilizer on it. They did bend a door to get in, got the sound system, stripped off the lower dashboard en f¨*cked up the ignition. Makes you want to...

but what the hey, far worse things happening here in SA! It's just an old car and covered by theft insurance. The SA police even came to take fingerprints. Which is remarkable because they mostly don't give a rat's ass about crimes without violence. So all and all... things could have been worse.

Problem with modern cars of the last few years models is, the immobilisers are so good, they just carjack you instead. Theres no winning, it seems.

yeah, carjackings and smash 'n grabs are a huge problem here, also because most cars have alarms, immobilisers and so on... Only things you can do are: no bags or valuables in sight - or if possible: in your car -, always have your windows shut, doors locked, ignore red lights when possible and certainly when it's dark (drastic, yep, but normal around here), never talk to beggars etc on crossroads... and pray. In Belgium, I never had to think about these things, but 1 out of 3 S-Africans I've met have been carjacked or hijacked near their car at least once in their life. You're right, in the end, there's no winning. Except for staying safely in your nucleair shelter

Went to the landlord's office to report it, and ask permission to install various security devices/preventative measures to enhance the property.

Seems they arent concerned about it. They were aware of the other breakins but DID NOT NOTIFY THE TENANTS about it.

The Manager was full of ****, admitting that she moved out of the complex because of the crime, but that its not the landlord's responsibility to 'secure or prevent crime.' She claimed thats the Police departments job. She was not happy when I pointed out in front of everyone that the police are not to prevent crime, but merely investigate and arrest those responsible. She then proceeded to try and evict me for having firearms, and when I told her that nothing I did/had violated the lease, she threatened to evict me anyway for 'endangering the other tenants.'

At that point I told her that I would take great pleasure in testifying against her and the leasing company during the lawsuit that will occur when someone is raped or killed and the family sues. \

Anyway, my plan is here. Got it dialed in and tuned.

Oh, all of the measures i wanted to take were denied.

Only thing they are letting me do is install charlie bars to prevent someone from opening the windows. Which is rather silly, as you can kick them in far faster and much easier than trying to open them normally. . . .

I got got burgled whilst family and me asleep upstairs. I feel for you and the mashed dash but theres nout worse than some fecker having your car keys and not using em that night. I even left a note in the empty unlocked glovebox saying f*ck you! after clamping the car on the drive.

this is the point where a 1000fps air rifle firing .8g bbs comes in handy. Automatic if you can find it. wont kill someone, but will defiantly break skin and hurt like hell. also quiet so if there is more than 1 person they dont know whats happening. Too bad you don't live in Texas. If someone is stealing your stuff, its legal to shoot them there.

I think making them watch the barney show with the barney tune constantly playing in the background would be a much harsher punishment.

In California we have to hand the thief of our stuff and ask them to have a nice day as they walk off with it in plain sight...and we have to hope they do not trip and hurt themselves as they leave with all of our stuff or we'll get sued.

Same here. Just you have to have a legitimate purpose for having a gun and that pretty much rules out only the most freak incidents of legal gun owners doing this eg. hunter taking gun to car, someone starts taking shots at him, he fires back ... etc.

I'm pretty sure you're fairly screwed in court if your weapon was illegal or you were 'carrying it for protection' without the appropriate security licenses.



Unless the bullet missed enough vitals and then he'll take you to the cleaners in court. Imagine the emotional swing having bandages over a bullet-wound on your head would have on a jury. "He shot me in the face" ... "We can see that, and its kinda disgusting, put your bandage back on!"

Hate to break this to you but you can't get high off of hemp no matter how much you smoke, you'd get an really bad headache but that's about it.

Actually Hemp is just another name for Cannabis ... and there is plants in this wide family that have a very small amount of THC and others that have a very large amount.

I do know about Hemp-rope ... its a fairly big industry here. I was just making a joke So laugh ^_^
