Well I posted this thread originally I think the night before the database killed itself and didn't get to see any replies, so here's a second try.

A US Army contract for a sniper rifle that will supposedly replace the M24 was won recently by KAC (Knights Armament Co.) with the 'SR-XM110', now offically named 'M110'. The M110 is a variant of the popular SR-25 Mk11 Mod0 rifle, already in service with the US Navy/SOCOM. I think it would be a very interesting and realistic addition to PoE for BF2 as the squad sniper rifle for the US Army, if or when they're added.

It will be nice to have this and that other marine squad rifle in POE.They would be the american equivalents of the SVD. :)

Yep.

There are a bunch of small differences between an SR-25 and the XM-110, but they are very, very similar.

Here's a good look at the new SASS system.

I like it. I notice it's got a supressor on it, too, which is the way a Sniper weapon should be. This would be a nice addition to urban combat maps as long as the rest of the kit doesn't make it unstoppable.

I don't know about you guys, I grew an attachment to the .1.5 AI AE Sniper...

I think this would be great to have as at least the Army sniper rifle. It could be used for more anti-infantry purposes since it would be much more quiet than the M-109.

This would be the perfect US standard rifle but the XM109 should be the unlock for all sides.

weapon unlocks are lame, this isnt BF2. Weapons being for all sides is also a lame BF2 thing.

If PoE pwnz again and has different divisions of the military on certain maps, we could give the larger divisions the M-110 while more obscure divisions will still have the M-24.
