Hello there again,
Being the founder and leader of the Point of Existence Fan Cult, and having the mandatory chest brand to prove it, I thought that I would grace the community, and offer them my superior opinions on modification philosophy. Now I know that you all are not worthy of my superlative commentary, but I will allow you to view it anyways. Recently the most pressing barrier to effective game play has been balancing the weaponry between the opposing forces. Put simply, who would want to play this modification if the German side always dominated or the Ukrainian team never lost any ground. Losing is what makes the game fun and enjoyable if you're on the other team. And currently there has been much lively and productive debate on how to best combine various rifles and other weapons to make the two sides identical in almost every way. Some suggest that the fancy German optical systems mounted on all their firearms allow them superior accuracy and target acquisition making the German force practically unbeatable, except if the opposing team forms cohesive units and engages using effective tactics. So essentially unstoppable. They say things like "zomg i d/led POE lik 10mins ago and like teh ruskie tem lost, the GER scopes are so gud, now the mod sucks, i'fd rather statpad in vanilla ".
Conversely, others opine that it is actually the Ukrainian team which posses an inherent advantage. They point to the VEPR assault rifle primarily, or solely as an exemplar. Making the claim that this gun is a divine creation, beastly on the field of battle to the point of overpoweredness, and because of the excellent accuracy and potency of this rifle the Ukrainians exhibit total dominance on the field of battle. These people state that "Teh VEPR is good, to good i was playign on Dripwoen sunrise last nite and like these guys wit the VEPR snuck up behind my one man squad and totally took us out. their is no defence for it."
Furthermore Jonathan_Archer_nx01 says "pee-pee-pee-pee-pee-pee-pee-pee-peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-fshiiiuuu-fshiiiuuu-fshiiiuuu-
fshiiiuuu", and maybe something else, but no one really cares.
As you can see, from what I've just said, it would appear to be a monumental feat to fairly oppose two warring factions. And the feasibility of actually not giving either team an unearned advantage seems limited at best. It would appear that in realistic modern warfare the two opposing nations are inherently unbalanced. This balancing task would seem to be insurmountable and hopeless.
However, in my correct opinion there is still hope, but it will require radical changes, radical to the extreme. What I mean to say is that it is not as simple as it may seem. Some naive theorizer might suggest, if the German optics are too strong, just remove the scopes. Or if the VEPR is overly potent just give the infantryman one or two rounds or ammunition. But thats overly simplistic and would never work! If you removed the G-36's optics then they would have to use the mechanical sights. But the troops would not be practiced and not be able to use them effectively in combat. If you took magazines from the VEPR operators, what would they masturbate to when not patrolling.
Overall the current system is broke and needs replacing, we just cannot responsibly add modern weaponry to this modification if we want it to be perfectly balanced. And we do! For some reason, I forget the actual rational.
We should remove the assault rifles altogether, they are a major source of unbalancing, I propose a large plank of wood be added, with maybe some optics.
The pistols should be replaced with a holster size stick, the secondary fire mode should be rapid goad.
The grenades should be removed in favour of a hyena on a leash.
This happy fellow here has the idea. He is the model of balanced warfare.
It is evident that these changes are the first step to improving game play with the addition of balancing elements, and if you tell me that this is hard coded I'll know the Point of Existence development team isn't trying.

Takes just until some savvy suggesters conjure up some unique thoughts, and word them intelligently. But in the end the suggestions are remarkably similar to eleven other threads and the discussion is repetitive as well as pointless.

In the wrong hands, Trout can be tremendously dangerous as well ... I'd venture to say that they are even more fearsome and deadly than Hyenas.
I once saw a rainbow trout tear the head off a hyena when I lived in the Congo! This stuff happens! Imagine what would happen if you added high tech optics to them!

Because it was directed at the likes of you?
Sam posted this, as a reply to the posts made by "some people" who are trying to make this GAME into a realism shooter , which would NOT be fun. I think PoE is alot of fun, for the most part the game is a balanced game of rock-paper-scissors, even if the rock seems over-powered, the truth is that paper is just not used enough.
yes the VEPR is a great weapon, used by ALOT of people.. But if it was truley overpowered, everyone would be using it... Oh wait everyone is using it, which is why Im the lone medic, running around reviving EVERYONE.

OMG the running gag. You're already a classic. Next please. He's spot on, the **** gets way over porportion and poeple keep trying to "mirror balance" anything. Yet even Sam Hoy becomes a tit bit boring. He should involve him self on caricaturing some dev, or a perticular members of the forum. Who? Hell anyone, me, you, skirpoo, RB, Senior freebie, wells.
