First off, I would personally like to thank each and every person who work on a map for this contest. I would also like to thank all the fans who came out in support of the mappers and helped with testing, feedback, providing testing servers, and just generally supporting the contestants.

We were overwhelmed with the quality of the maps that were submitted and thoroughly enjoyed trying each one out. With the huge response we got, we decided to extend the winners from 3 to 5 as we had a hard time sorting through and felt some maps were just too good to pass up.

In addition to now having a top 5, the 1st and 2nd place winners are getting a spot in our next release! More information on the map pack coming soon in an official news post! Major congrats to all!!!

1st place
Red Dawn by michi.be
This map was just amazing. michi.be did an excellent job not only with his layout but he also made a ton of statics for this map. He mixed PoE objects and his own to make a very detailed and custom map.

2nd place
Operation Acorn by feenicks
This map was just great! We loved the way Feenicks used the terrain and heightmap to really make an interesting map. The game play layout looks like it has a great flow and has great choke points. The map is very detailed and overall just a great map!

3rd place
Berezne by =VSF=Dali
The dev team really enjoyed this map. The map is a little village surrounded by streams and a forest. The streams work as great choke points and the village provides some good infantry action.

4th place
Woodland by Running
This map is set in a forest with lots of changes in the heightmap. We loved how the terrain was constantly moving and how statics were used in crucial spots to provide excellent cover.

5th place
Stormfront by Racer-9088 (and help from Catbox and others)
Beautiful map. This map just looks great! The textures and lighting all came together really well. This map is focused around a small lake and looks to have some interesting infantry fighting.

WoW! Im so exited. The hard work but it payed off.
thanks to all the feedback and people who helped me and congrats to all the other guys. :)
Since the end of the contest i worked a bit at the map and put in some
car models in the streets and other statics. there are also cables hanging around and the overall look has been improved a bit.

another good news is that one helpfull soul from the BFSP-Forums named "dorayacoop" is doing the Navmehes and full bot support for the map.
The SP part is very important for me because my little brother plays SP only if he visits me from time to time ;)

The map pack will be coming out officially in about a week. I think all the maps are available now but we are giving them some time to make sure everything is in order. I am really excited about the contest and can not wait to play these awesome maps with everyone soon!

As a testament to how good some of the community maps are, I have to change the sky settings for a PoE map thats in the works at the moment so it doesn't appear to compete with Red Dawn :p

Im honored to make the top 5 and the map pack! It was clear to me that "Red Dawn" by Michi.be was a clear winner. I dont think any of the other maps had near the number of custom statics as did his, if they had any.
Plus it had a unique feeling to it.
Threshold is looking good, just keep working on it till the next contest and see if you can find someone to make you some cool statitcs Xaritix.

I will tweak Stormfront a bit if possible. I like the "Trenches" area and may expand that.

Yes soon. As I stated in another thread, we gave the map winners some time to make sure everything was in order and then we have to build an installer. We dont want to release the maps and not have them all work or have issues installing them.

We gave the map makers some time to clean up any things that needed attention, bugs, glitches, LOD issues with statics etc etc.
